advanced fluorescence microscopy workshop

august 17-20, 2015 | urbana-champaign, illinois

The Advanced Fluorescence Microscopy workshop is intended for students and researchers who utilize fluorescence microscopy and are interested in applying the latest techniques to single molecule detection in quantitative cell biology, nanomaterials, and biophysics. The lectures are complemented by practical demonstrations of instruments. Participants are recommended to have at least a bachelor’s degree in the life sciences, physical sciences or engineering before attending. Interactions between participants and lecturers will be fostered. Topics covered in the course include:
  • Microscopy Instrumentation
  • FFS, Fluorescence Fluctuations Spectroscopy
  • FLIM, Fluorescence Lifetime Imaging
  • Single Molecule Imaging
  • Superresolution
The number of participants is limited to 50. The course will be held at the Institute for Genomic Biology at the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign.
